In today’s lesson, you’ll need someone to share ideas with. This could
be a partner, or someone you sit near. When everyone knows who
their talk partner is, move on to the next step.
Step
03/15
Read each part of your plan. When you’re done, show a silent
thumbs up.
Step
04/15
Take turns telling your partner what you pictured about where
your story takes place.
Step
05/15
Add details to your plan.
Step
06/15
Take turns telling your partner who was there and what
was happening.
Step
07/15
Add details to your plan.
Step

Read the before section of your plan. Choose what you want to
begin your story with and write 1 next to it.
Step
09/15
Write 2 and 3 next to the other sections.
Step
10/15
Use the part you marked as number one to write a few sentences
to begin your story. Begin writing at the star.
Step
11/15
Write a few more sentences that include the other two parts
of your before section.
Step
12/15
Check that you included where your story happens. If you did,
you can check it off on your plan.
Step
13/15
Make sure you included who was there. If you included who was
there, you can check it off on your plan. If it’s missing, add it to
your story now.
Step
14/15
Make sure you included what was happening. If you did, you can
check it off on your plan. If it’s missing, add it to your story now.
Step
15/15
Take turns sharing your beginning with your partner.
If you want, you can make changes.
