If students need an intro or additional support with understanding the characteristics of the opinion genre, we recommend teaching the Intro to Opinion Writing lesson first.

Students who are ready to work at an independent level will choose chameleon or hamster and provide 2 reasons to support their opinion. 		1 per student
New Pet: Supported worksheet
Students who could use a little extra support will choose chameleon or hamster and use the sentence starters and the word bank to fill in two reasons to support their opinion. 		1 per student
