DISCUSS:
What do you notice about the facts Tatiana read while looking for information
about the Safari Park?
Step
01/13
Get your supplies.
Step
02/13
On your Destinations worksheet, circle the names of the two places
you liked the most. Label them 1 and 2.
Step
03/13
Learn how to play the sorting game. When you’re ready to play the
game, move on to the next step.
Step
04/13
Silently show the motion that matches each fact.
Step
05/13
We’ve written these facts as notes for you. Write these notes from
the game we played into the matching sections on your worksheet.
Only add facts that match the destinations you circled.
Step
06/13
Get your Seoul Facts worksheet. Read each fact one at a time.
Decide which destination it matches. If it’s one of the destinations
you circled, jot a few words about that fact on your worksheet.
Step
07/13
Get your supplies. You can put your Seoul Facts and Word Bank
worksheets to the side.
Step
08/13
Find the destination that you labeled as number 1. Write the name
of that destination in the “Title” box on your Web Page Draft.
Step
09/13
Start at the arrow to write your topic sentence. You can use
Tatiana’s or come up with your own.
Step
10/13
While you’re drafting today, you can turn each fact into its own
sentence, or combine facts to make longer sentences. Decide which
fact you want to write about first. Put a checkmark next to that
fact.
Step
11/13
Write a sentence about the fact you marked on your Web Page.
If you want, you can put two facts in your sentence using one of
these connecting words.
Step
12/13
Use your notes to draft the rest of your paragraph. You can use
these sentence starters or come up with your own. Continue adding
checkmarks to facts as you write sentences about them.
Step
13/13
Nice job, writers! Today you sorted facts about your destinations and
drafted your first paragraph! Before you go, make sure your VIPs get
put somewhere safe. I’ll see you next time.
