Step
01/17
Before we begin, you’ll need a piece of writing that you’re going to
edit and get ready to publish. Get the draft you’re working on now.
For Travel to Seoul: Get your Web Page Drafts 1 and 2.
Step
02/17
Discuss: This sentence is actually two sentences. Can you find where
the missing period should go?
Step
03/17
Now, look through your writing. Check the end of every sentence to
make sure it ends with a period, question mark, or exclamation mark.
If it doesn’t, you can add one.
Step
04/17
Discuss: Where is the missing capital letter?
Step
05/17
Check the start of every sentence to make sure it begins with a
capital letter. If it doesn’t, you can change the letter.
Step
06/17
Discuss: Where is the spelling mistake in this sentence?
Step
07/17
Now, get your writing. Use all the spelling strategies you know to help
you spell your words. You can also use resources in your classroom
to help you if you’re not sure how to spell a word.
Step
08/17
Discuss: What part of this sentence doesn’t sound right?
Step
09/17
Now read your writing to check to make sure it sounds right. You can
read in your head, or whisper read to yourself. If you find a part that
doesn’t sound right, you can fix your sentence.
Step
10/17
Recopy your work in your best handwriting.
For Travel to Seoul: Use two Web Page worksheets to recopy both
destination paragraphs.

Congratulations! Your writing has leveled up!

If you need a natural stopping point:

Teachers: This is a natural stopping point. The next steps will guide students to add pictures and captions to their writing and assemble their final web post. If students wrote digitally, we recommend printing student work before moving on. If you stop here, be sure to put all the VIPs somewhere safe!

If you’re continuing right now, go to the next slide.

Step
11/17
Get your supplies.
Step
12/17
Get your first Web Page. Write what your picture will be in the
caption box below your picture. It’s ok if your caption isn’t a complete
sentence.
Step
13/17
Draw your picture in the box. You can add some colors too! If you
don’t get enough time to draw, you can finish later.
Step
14/17
Get your second Web Page. Write what your picture will be in the
caption box below your picture. It’s ok if your caption isn’t a complete
sentence.
Step
15/17
Draw your picture in the box. If you don’t get enough time to draw,
you can finish later.
Step
16/17
To build your final web post, stack your papers with your Conclusion
on the bottom, then Web page 2, Web Page 1, then your introduction
on the top. Make sure all your pages are lined up at the top.
Step
17/17
Staple your three pages together using one staple on the gray box.
