What animal do you see when you look at this drawing?
DISCUSS:
How would you explain this quote? Try explaining it in different ways.
Step
01/12
Get your supplies.
Step
02/12
In today’s lesson, you’ll need someone to share ideas with. This could
be a partner or someone you sit near. When everyone knows who
their talk partner is, move on to the next step.
Step
03/12
Begin by reviewing your fanzine plan. When you’re done reading,
give a silent thumbs up.
Step
04/12
Write your second reason and your first piece of evidence.
Don’t forget to introduce your evidence.
Step
05/12
With your partner, take turns explaining your first piece of evidence
out loud.
Step
06/12
Write your explanation for your quote next. You can use the
sentence starters on your worksheet if you want.
Step
07/12
On your own, you can finish the rest of your second body paragraph.
Step
08/12
Take turns sharing your second body paragraph with your partner.
If you want, you can make changes.
Step
09/12
Get your Body 1 Draft worksheet. Take a few minutes to quietly read
what you wrote in the last lesson.
Step
10/12
Find the first piece of evidence you included in your first body
paragraph. Discuss with your partner: Why did you include this
piece of evidence?
Step
11/12
Draw a star where you want to add more sentences. Then draw
another star where you have room to write on your worksheet.
Step
12/12
Add your explanation for your evidence next to your second star.
If there are more revisions you would like to make to your first body
paragraph, you can add more sentences using other symbols.
